Changes to Land Registry registration fees
From and including 31 January 2022, Land Registry will be increasing their registration fees fees for the first time since 2009. This will be for all transactions submitted for registration from that date, even if your transaction completed before that date.
Registration fees apply to transactions that require making a change to the title register of a property registered at Land Registry. These are often known as dispositions and the most commonly encountered ones relate to change of ownership of a property, or the registration of a mortgage (legal charge).
Scale 1 fees: These will apply to the majority of purchase transactions that affect the whole of a registered title.
